Drone Companion is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that you can add to your phone's home screen. It opens in an app-like window; available features and browser behaviour depend on your device and connection.

On iPhone (Safari)
Open Safari
This is important as it won't work fully from Chrome on iPhone
Go to dronecompanion.co
Tap the Share icon

Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"
Tap Add
You'll now see the Drone Companion icon on your home screen and it will open full-screen like a normal app.
On Android (Chrome)
Open Chrome
Go to dronecompanion.co
Tap the three-dot menu
Located in the top-right corner
Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app"
Confirm when prompted
The Drone Companion icon will appear on your home screen. Tap it anytime to launch the app in full-screen mode.
Once Installed
You can launch Drone Companion directly from your home screen and use it in an app-like window. Some reference content may be cached, but availability varies by device, browser, and what has previously loaded.
Opens in full-screen mode without browser controls
Your account session may persist, but you may be asked to sign in again depending on your browser and account settings.
When connected, reload the app to receive available updates.
Cached reference content may be available offline. Live weather and radar, and the Safety Map (including available NOTAM and ADS-B layers), require an internet connection and may depend on data-provider availability.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why isn't Drone Companion in the App Store?
Drone Companion is distributed as a web app rather than through an app-store listing. When connected, updates are served through the website; you may need to reload the app to see them. Updates are not guaranteed to appear immediately.
Is it safe to install?
Install it from the official Drone Companion website over HTTPS. Like other websites, a PWA's access to device features is subject to browser permissions and platform controls. Only install apps from sources you trust.
Can I uninstall it?
Yes, just like any other app. On iPhone, press and hold the icon then tap "Remove App". On Android, press and hold then drag to "Uninstall" or tap the X.
I don't see "Add to Home Screen" on iPhone
Open the site in Safari and look for the option in the Share menu; its location or availability can vary by iOS version and browser. Scroll down in the menu if it is not immediately visible.
